Subscriptions
What is the Freemap+ subscription?
This is an optional subscription to extend the functionality of Freemap and support the project.
The subscription is at a low price, in order to make it accessible to as many people as possible. You can find the list of all features directly in the application by clicking on the "Become Freemap+" button.
What are the prices for the Freemap+ subscription?
We offer an annual subscription of 35€88/year or 2,99€ per month. The annual subscription allows us to have long-term visibility and therefore reduce costs for both you and us.
You can also choose to take advantage of Freemap+ features without an annual commitment by subscribing to the Freemap+ monthly offer at 4,99€.
How does taking out a Freemap+ subscription support the project?
Freemap is above all a voluntary and independent project. We do not have any third party funding or grants.
Despite everything, the existence of Freemap has costs: Database, image storage server, real-time communication servers...
The Freemap+ subscription is therefore a way for all users to both maintain the service offered by allowing everyone to benefit from it, but also to contribute to its evolution by allowing the creators of the application to have a coffee on hand so as not to fall asleep on their keyboards <3
Community shop and local currency (virtual)
What is the store in Freemap?
Freemap provides a store that allows all users of the application to exchange products or services with other users. Freemap provides a local and virtual currency called Sharecoin (Sharing Tokens) to facilitate exchanges.
How do the Sharecoins work?
Sharecoins (Sharing Tokens) are virtual tokens that you can obtain in Freemap and which allow you to Barter for items and services in the community store or to participate in events and activities offered by other users.
They can be obtained for free (for example by logging in for 7 days in a row, completing quests, unlocking achievements, contributing to the map, offering items in the community store, organizing activities, etc.)
Or by purchasing a Pack of Sharecoins (optional but faster for those who want to enjoy maximum experience very quickly).
What is the point of Sharecoins rather than Euros?
The interest of Sharecoins lies in the fact that it is a virtual currency shared within the community, which values sharing, social and creation. The more things you make available within the community (for example by offering showers, overnight accommodation, picking your apple tree, pruning shears in the community store, etc.), the more sharecoins you will earn.
The Sharecoins you earn can in turn be used to obtain services from the community (for example, visiting a community workshop if your bike has a flat tire, joining an organized board game evening, or exchanging your Sharecoins for delicious homemade jams, etc.).
In short, it is a currency which promotes mutual aid and sharing and which limits commodification and the desire to capitalize since it can be obtained by the simple act of serving the community. You are not "paid" by your salary but by the direct fruit of your contribution to the community.
Can I sell or give away my Sharecoins?
Sharecoins cannot be exchanged for Euros, however you can definitely decide to give Sharecoins to a friend via the application or to any user whether to thank them for a contribution or to give them a small gift.
Activities
What are the activities?
Activity markers are activities proposed by Freemap users to provide a service or organize an event on a given date with the rest of the community.
A user can therefore provide their accommodation for the night, offer members the opportunity to come pick fruit in their orchard, participate in a pottery workshop and much more.
The organized activities can be completely free or can be accessed in exchange for Sharecoins (Sharing Tokens).
Any user can create an activity and define the parameters (price, number of participants, date etc.) and can manage participation requests directly from the application interface.
All participants in an activity have a Chat dedicated to this activity to exchange access terms and any other details related to the activity.
