About Freemap

Our mission is to create a global, collaborative map of free resources, accessible to everyone. We want to encourage sharing, reduce waste and strengthen ties within local communities. By making visible the abundance around us, we hope to inspire a more sustainable and supportive way of life.

We dream of a world where everyone can easily access the resources they need, without financial barriers. A world where sharing becomes a natural reflex, where communities help each other and flourish through the pooling of knowledge and goods. Our vision is that of a more equitable world, of a caring community where collective abundance is transformed into opportunity for all.

Freemap was born from a need to share and save locations. How do I share with a friend the location of a delicious fig tree in the corner of a public park? How do we remember where we saw a magnificent pear tree during our vacation in Normandy? No app allowed you to both annotate a map with photos and plant details and at the same time be able to get automatic reminders or feedback from the community. So Freemap was born, in this desire to share and remember to allow everyone to benefit from nature and our collective knowledge!
